Great first game.

5-4 as of the 8 minute mark in the third.

Incredible hockey. One of the best games I've seen in a while.

Buffalo's been in a lot of good hockey games these playoffs. Being out west, of course I've missed most of them. This weekend I caught both Ducks-Avs games. And I have to say the Ducks are looking very good right now. Selanne looks ten years younger and now they've got Bryzgalov shutting the door, plus strong D from Neidermayer & Co. The Sharks-Oilers game tonight... Sharks looked good, but I think this will be a series--should get a better idea if Edmonton can hang with the Sharks tomorrow night. They never quit, but the Sharks really controlled this game. Still, only 2-1. Lots of hitting. Sharks-Ducks could be a great series if it comes to that, and I think that's what it's going to be.

What happened to New Jersey? Carolina didn't look like much against the Habs and then they come out and stomp NJ? Strange...

I expect Jersey to be back to normal tonight.

Didn't Carolina get a slew of power play goals though (3 or 4, at least -- I didn't watch the whole game)? Being on the power play a lot will win you games in the playoffs.

Yeah, there was a lot of PP goals for Carolina. I watched the 3rd period and NJ just looked slow. Of course they were already down 4-0 when I started watching so I don't know if they looked any better prior to that, but they really didn't look good on Saturday. We'll see how tonight goes.

BTW, did you catch the Sharks-Oilers last night? Neiminen had 15 hits on his stat line! He was getting chiropractic adjustments between shifts. Overall, I think it was something like 44-28 hits. Dang.

I only watched a couple of minutes of the game last night. Was watching Bonds and Family Guy.

I knew San Jose was winning -- I don't know if they were able to wrap it up (2-1 in the early 3rd).
