Daunte's Wish Will be Granted, He's Gone

Been reported all day that we have a deal set up with one team and have others in the helm. Supposedly will happen sometime Friday(they are givin it a night to see if one of the other teams makes a better offer).

What does everyone think about the departure of Culpecker? Who should be his replacement...awww heck, even lemme know who you think we should sign in FA...its starts saturday....

Now there are reports of Wilf not knowing of any deal. Supposedly he stated that there is no imminent plan to ship him as of right now. Could be BS, who knows who to believe...

I hate Daunte...he's a bum and he's going to suck next year.

I hope he goes to a team that plays the Vikes in Minnesota next year so he can get booed ruthlessly in the Dome.

I love Daunte and I don't think this is all his fault. However, he was suppose to be the leader of this team and he failed at it. Oh well.

I hope the team signs Drew Brees and starts Brad Johnson until Brees is healthy again. I think that would be a great plan for the quarterback position.

I heard (ESPN) that Drew Brees is targeted by Miami

that I don't want him to get traded is the wealth of his crap that I own. I have a game worn jeresy signed and hanging on my wall in an expensive *** case, an authentic helmit signed, 2 authentic balls signed, a signed hat and rookie card, and a paint and a $250 embroidered jersey, I didn't acctually buy any of the stuff but come on....And I will always remember the memorable season but really I hate his *** for comming out asking for more money after his worst start ever then a career questioning injury and if a player doesn't want to be here I don't want them...Ha I hope he goes to Oakland so they can deal with him and Randy Moss together...

The Brees deal? If so, that's a good thing!

The only way this whole ordeal works out well for us is if we somehow get Brees. However, I doubt that will happen and we are doomed. If we go into the season starting Brad Johnson I might just cry.

The thing about "Drew Brees is being targeted by miami" well, miami is "targeting" alotta people they have Culpeppers backup starting. So when you hear that a team is targetting someone that just emans that he is a free agent qb and they are in need of one. Chad Pennington and Daunte Culpeper and Drew Brees have all been put down as being targetted by Miami. Dont pay attention to it, tha reporters are just tryna sound smart. Which theyre not. They just got resources and common sense. I see pep going to Oakland or Miami it dont really matter. But the ONLY qb i wanna see in purple and gold is Drew Brees. not chad or kerry or nothin. Drew Brees, yea he gots my vote.

cause if we get brees we dont need to draft Chad Jackson, and can get Deangelo Williams. So well have a young QB young RB new stadium new coach new owner new staff...and tha list goes on and on. Brand new team. I like that.

I love the offseason...somethin to look forward too. :D

I guess the rumor now is the Saints are hot for Brees -- I guess because they can develop Matt Leinart and rent Brees for a couple of years.

I do agree that starting Brad Johnson would royally suck next year. I like him but he's quite old. Not a good move to have him as the #1 QB. HOWEVER, if we do trade Culpepper to Oakland and can get their first round pick we might be able to snag a QB at #7 (whether it's Jay Cutler or Vince Young -- one of them will be available at 7).

It would be idiotic to sign Brees and draft Leinart. They have so many other needs it wouldn't help them to waste the cap space on Brees and get Leinart. They need to make a decision and if they choose Brees, shop for some talent at other positions, and if Leinart, use the space to sign some FA's that will help he squad. Brees is also damaged goods so it will be interesting to see what he signs for...

I would be pleasantly surprised if we got any kind of 1st rounder for Pepp. I don't think Oakland is interested anymore and i highly doubt that they would be willing to part with that pick in order to get damaged goods. If we trade Pecker we will most likely get, at best, a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Hopefully thats not the case and the management makes a sweet deal. But then again this is the Vikings we're talkin about... so most likely no...now its just wait and see.

Yeah -- it will be interesting to see what happens.

I think you gotta move Culpepper at this point because he's being such a dumbsh-t but who are you going to trade him to? Who wants a QB who popped all three ligaments in his knee? Outside of Oakland, not really too many teams. Miami maybe?

It would royally suck to start Johnson, and not because I don't think he gives us a decent chance to win, but he is so boring to watch I mean come on....Last year dragged on even with the 6 game win streak...

tha triangle of authority ****ed up and couldnt get it done with oakland, miami or new york. how can you NOT trade Daunte Culpecker away, especialy when ther are teams out there WITHOUT a startin quarterback. pathetic. horribly mismanaged. if they were gonna trade him they shoulda let it be known and started the trade process weeks ago. he should be gone by now!

now we gonna probably have to cut him and get nothin in return. he clearly doesnt wanna stay on tha team. him and brad childress dont get along. a brandnew start to a brandnew team shouldnt begin with a quarterback who doesnt want to stay on tha team he is apart of.

i was feelin sooo goood about the new traingle of authority thingy that wilf set up but its only the very begining of free agency and they already blew it with this whole culpepper situation.

do we wanna start him? bench him? keepin him on tha team seems like a idiotic move period and im so MAD that hes not gone by now.

ZYGI WILF U SON OF A MOTHER%^%ING PIECE OF $%#@ WHY CANT YOU GET RID OF THAT GUY!! #@%%IT! I DONT CARE NO MORE JUST CUT HIM!

just cut him and get brees, we BETTER get brees....

Alright man, deep breaths. They probably didn't wanna deal him because they couldn't get their asking price of a 2nd round pick. I think that is pretty reasonable and it makes sense to wait at least a little longer to see if someone gets eager after a week of free agent signings. I think they have until the 16th or 17th before they have to pay him his bonus. This hype was most likely created by the media anyways, so I don't think deals were as serious as they have initially been made to seem.

no the thing is just that any team interested already knows that Vikes gotta pay the man 6 mil on the 17th, and if they do then they are keeping him, if they dont then they are releasing him. and no one wants to trade for him if they can just pick him up in free agency. Thats why i say they shoulda started the trade process a long time ago because now theres no way anyone would trade for him. thers no way we can actually BENEFIT from this Culpepper situation. unless he stays and plays good which is DOUBTFUL.

so yeah im just hopin everything works out well but i guess thats all i can do. which sucks. i mean if the BEST possible outcome for the vikings is releasing him and getting nothin in return but not really losin nothin then i cant say i have a problem.

even tho i do.

Is Daunte still on sale on E-bay- I don't know that 1 million dollar opening bid kind of scared me off. The 8 million dollar "Buy -it now" too.
