View Full Version : Montogomery on hot seat
Ric Bucher was talking about Montgomery being on the hot spot. He said he didn't think he'd be fired this year but if the Warriors were to underachieve next year it would be a possibility. My hope would be that if he is fired that the Gophers would pursue him since last year will likely be Monson's last year. I can't see him lasting another year anyway since the roster is not looking very good at this point and we continue to lose recruits. Montgomery would give us the same respect for a coach and he has a proven track record. He could be just what Maturi would be looking for in a replacement.

I could be happy with Montgomery being the next coach.
Of course a rock would be better than Monson at this point.

Steve Lavin would be better. Saying that I think Minnesota can be much like Stanford in the long run. Stanford has been able to maintain a good program while keeping the grades at a good level. I think the Montgomery could do that at the U as well.
That being all fien and dandy Lavin can recruit and would be a terrific find for the Gophers. I dont mind Monson but he is just not getting the job done at this point.
