Looks like Texas gets Lee

The Texas Rangers have completed a deal with the Mariners for ace Cliff Lee only hours after one with the Yankees fell through.

Texas is sending first baseman Justin Smoak in a package to Seattle. Mariners reliever Mark Lowe will join Lee in heading to Texas. Seattle will pay the remaining $4 million on Lee's contract.

StretchArmstrong is an unknown quantity at this point
this could fall through, because Texas is taking on salary.
What disturbs me is the Twins were not an option metioned.

All I can say is...at least is isn't the Yankees! Whew!

The Twins could have used a true ace, but had the Yankees picked up Lee it just would have been another slap in the face of every small market team!

It still will be. Instead of trading prospects for him this year, they'll just sign him and lose a draft pick in the offseason.
