Two more years...

Brewster got his extension today.

The U should have held on one more year with him unless they know Seantrel is going to sign here and Brewster's extension would effectively guarantee him becoming a Gopher.

It was more than Henderson.

Nearly half of the top recruits had said that Brewster not being extended was a concern. Several of he de-commits said that the reason they did was because Brewster's status was uncertain. Doesnt really matter actually they can still fire a coach when they see fit. IMO a college coach deserves 5 years in the program to see if his recruits can develope the program into a winning team. Most of Brewster's recruits are now Sophomores at best or are Frosh. His first real recruiting class was 2 years ago and he has gotten some very good production out of them. Have to remember the first year he was hired 90% of the recruits were Mason's Brewster had to take them as it was so late in the process.

There is no doubt the Gophers have better athletes and better football players. Hopefully we will see a more balanced improvement out of the team this year. Last season the Defense took a step forward in its all around play the offense continued to struggle with yet another change in offensive coordinator. The good news is the new OC Horton knows college football and has worked well with college teams in the past. Hopefully he can bring a quality system taht wont overload the QBs with a ton of complicated schemes in year 1. That was Fisch's biggest problem he just tried to put everything into play without putting in a base to start from. The Gophers must improve the O-Line if anything is going to get better.
