Starting Lineups
There are a ton of potential starting lineups. Here are a few I'll throw out there. I'm curious to see which ones people prefer. If you have a different that you prefer, feel free to throw it out there.

I voted for:
Foye/Green/Brewer/Smith/Jefferson
It just seemed like the best one to me as far as youn guys go. I might have voted differently if we were closer to the season, because if Davis is here, he'll start.
I'd like this rotation with Telfair, Gomes and those guys first off the bench.

Theo doesn't need to log big time with his injury history, and in terms of the team's future he's a stopgap at most.
I'd play him if a) the alternative was Jefferson at the five; and b) we were convinced Big Al's natural spot was the four. You don't move a potential franchise-type player out of position in order to fill in the weaknesses around him, and Al's not a great defender by history either. That might be your argument for Ratliff -- keeping Blount out of the lineup and playing Jefferson in his natural slot, supporting team defense by not exposing your young star.

Now you should change the question to who do you think Wittman will start. Totally different question.

I'd vote for that one if it were available.

As long as Theo is healthy then start him over Blount.

PG - Foye - Obviously.
SG - Davis - Will help out the younger players out on the floor with his experience. However, I really hope McCants can come to stride this season.
SF - Brewer - I have a feeling it will be typical Timberwolf rookie treatment and Brewer will not start his rookie season at all (unless of course, we go into tanking mode). Most likely it will be Gomes.
PF - Jefferson - Obviously. I hope we don't play him at the 5. For chris sake, he's too short.
C - Blount. bleh...what options do we have? I actually am interested in what Theo brings to the table, so if he still have ANY of his shot-blocking skills, give him the go-go.

I would have a lineup of Foye/McCants/Brewer/Smith/Jefferson as my starting lineup as long as Smith or Jefferson added a decent midrange jump shot like they said they have been working on all summer. I would also trade out Brewer for Gomes depending on how well Brewer can play as a rookie. A front line of Gomes/Smith/Jefferson would be a formidable because each of them are 250+, likes to play with their backs to the basket and can all rebound. If Gomes could add a three point shot, this line would be one of the best in league. Then my bench would be Green, Gomes, Telfair, and a mixture of Buckner, Howard, Ratliff, and Madsen as my fourth guy off the bench. Green will give you instant offense, Gomes will give you a nice all around player, and Telfair will be in just to spell Foye and to prove that he deserves more playing time. Then you have the flexibility to for post play, defense, and rebounding as your fourth guy.

I didn't see this option (the best option):
Foye-Green-Gomes-Jefferson-Blount.
I don't think Brewer is anyway near ready for the nba, so destroying his confidence right away doesn't make sense to me. Let him come off the bench for now.
Blount is the best first Qtr. Center in the game right now. Blount is the worst 2nd-3rd-4th qtr. starting center in the league. Start him.
Green is a better option than McCants right now. Let the injured player come off the bench.
Davis shouldn't start period.
Let Jaric rot.
Best Bet: Howard will be in at the end of every game. Line-up at the end of the game. Foye-Davis-Gomes-Jefferson-Howard. That's if Wittman plays to win.
