We need speed.

The Twins pitching has been so up and down its driving me nuts. Slowey, Blackburn, Baker, and even Liriano and the currently hot Pavano have been all over the place this season. We need a change and soon but I have no idea who I would like to see in a Twins uniform. The sad part might be that I would be fine not with the best possible pitcher but just with a guy that can be a consistant guy even if he is just a solid guy.

I still think this team needs to look at Roy Oswalt who is pitching well for a terrible team. Yes he has 3 years left on his deal that pays him a good chunk of change but we wont have Pavano forever and Liriano and his elbow could go at any time. Oswalt could be the ace we need atleast for another couple of years. I would rather gamble on him than a Dan Haren or another injury risk like Ben Sheets.

On offense this team is really missing some speed. We have gone from a multi dimensional offense that could pound the ball and create havoc on the base paths to a base to base team that is waiting for a 3 run homer in a park that doesnt give them up very often. We need to get more speed in the lineup. We ask every off season what we need to do to get better. We need to get a couple of speed demons into our lineup. I can't argue with any of the players the Twins have added this year when healthy Hudson, Hardy, and Thome have been what we have needed and Delmon Young has really picked up his game. That being said we have not been overly healthy and we have lost an aspect of our game that made us tough to beat. In the past we didnt go through long bouts of bad play because our offense scored in so many different ways and we cant do that now.

I'd take Oswalt in a heartbeat. He's not Cliff Lee but the nice thing is that even though he makes a lot of money in the next couple years, were still guaranteed to have a Ace in the rotation for a couple of seasons.Or at some point he becomes a BIG trade chip

Idk what the hell there waiting for when it comes to Anthony Slama..Burnett was horrid last night. What else are they waiting for??

Also it's time to start getting Duensing ready to possibly enter the starting rotation soon. One of those god awful SP needs to get sent down.Baker is not going to be so it's up to Blackburn and Slowey

This team is constantly getting in positions where there down early.Just like last night.Down 4-0 after the Top 2nd.Heck our offense scored 6 runs in the bottom of the inning but our horrid pitching staff gives it right up.

And now to make matters even worse,Morneau is out at least till next week

Twins really need to win these next 3 against the Sox.If they end up getting swept or losing 3 out of 4 idk if this team is capable of getting out of the hole they dug themselves. In year's past we have seemed to have this magic.I just don't see it this year

I almost like Dan Haren better though.idk but i just do.A lot of people feel Oswalt is an NL pitcher and would get beat up in the AL.At least with Haren,he's pitched in both leagues already.Haren would probably cost a bit more with prospects though

I almost feel like we will have to give up Aaron Hicks to land either Roy or Dan which i might be ok with since there not going to be 2 month rentals

Supposedly the asking price for Haren is through the roof. The problem with Haren is its about time for his injury history to pop up again. He always seems to wear down in the second half. Any pitcher who has been in the NL for his career is a crap shoot because of the pitcher hitting. If anything both guys are big gambles. The thing about trading for either guy taking on the contract could be very important for the teams trading them. They dont want the salary more than they dont want the player. If we take on the salary it might mean less prospects needed to get them.
